Why God Made Us

Lieder der Hutterischen Brüder, 570

God desires nothing more than to be the Father of those that seek him, and to have them for his sons and daughters. For this reason he shows himself to men with such clarity and power he cannot be ignored.

Heaven, earth, and sea, declare his majesty. His wisdom shines through everything he made. All creatures in heaven and earth, the sun, moon and stars, the animals, birds, fish, and growing things, stand witness to his creative glory. But the world pays him no attention. Nothing goes to heart. The world simply consumes the bounty of the earth on its own greed.

Worldly people to not care where they came from, what responsibilities they have, or how they ought to serve God. They simply go charging ahead in error, using all their members to serve themselves and oppose God’s Word.

But we should remember that God made us from the earth and breathed into us his Spirit of Truth. He made our hearts to comprehend him, our mouths to praise him, our eyes to observe his wonderful works, and our ears to listen to his voice. He made us, body and soul, to follow him!
